A Beautiful Day

We were so honored to have Sam, Jude, and Ross participate in Becca and Otha's wedding a few weeks ago. Becca has been a very important part of our life the past 3 years. She came into our life as a babysitter, but she was so much more than that to us, although as a babysitter, I can't say one negatiive thing about her. The Lord just knit her heart into our family and she is now such a dear, dear friend. I feel so good and peaceful when she is with my kids. I know that they love her so much and she loves them in return. As a babysitter, she is the best combination of fun and capable. She made herself right at home with us and her presence in our home was always a blessing. God brought Otha into her life and they are such a great fit. He is strong, loving, Godly, and passionate....all things Becca always told me she wanted in a husband. We had the priviledge of walking through their entire dating and engagement and then giving them pre-marital counseling.
This beautiful day in June was the culmination of so much hope, prayer, and waiting. It was a beautiful wedding, and I was most moved when Otha knelt down in front of his bride and washed her feet. It was a reflection of Christ and the Church that is burned into my brain. Sam and Jude were the ring-bearers and they did great. It's always a gamble when kids are in a wedding, but they did so well. I still don't think Jude knows why he was in the wedding or even what his job was, but he did it nonetheless and was rewarded at his seat after walkig down the very long aisle with 2 lollipops that kept him busy during the ceremony. Sam was in Michael and Terri's wedding as the ring bearer a few years ago, so when I told him that he did a good job, he said "it's no problem, I've done this before." Naomi was not in the wedding, but I just couldn't resist this sweet little dress when I saw it. I had to get it for her to match the boys. She did have lots of fun running around and getting lots of attention from Becca and the bridesmaids. Ross did the music during the ceremony, and despite getting a sick a few hours before the wedding, did a fabulous job. I survived the weekend as the coordinator of all this involvement and danced off my stress with many friends and Sam at the reception (as Ross, much to our great disappointment, missed the very fun dance).
Here are some amazing photos by Ryan Price from Otha & Becca's wedding and the fabulous dance party reception. They are incredible. And by the way, isn't Becca the most gorgeous bride you have ever seen? I can't get over her.
I love Jude's face in this picture. He was so annoyed with the photos after the wedding and had already rolled around the grass and untucked his shirt.
Ross, looking like a rock star. And Jude, again, looking so irritated at the photo taking (and this was before the wedding.)
